Position Description

Technology Infrastructure (TI) deliver innovative, integrated enterprise solutions that enable profitable growth. Within GT&O the GWB Messaging organization is accountable for end-to-end design and delivery of WMQ and WMB. Responsible for WMQ / WMB design and delivery of Payments platform within the GWB service delivery model. This highly-targeted client delivery method provides solutions to specific business requirements for end-to-end execution and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Design and Build including software support for IBM WMQ and WMB in large UNIX, Linux, Windows and z/OS environment.
  • End-to-end project delivery
  • IBM WMQ/WMB software installation / upgrade
  • CSD maintenance, standards and new feature/functionality development / testing / implementation for new initiatives / BAU requests within existing infrastructure and documentation.
  • Inclusion in global 24x7 on-call support through regular rotation that includes Triage participation and vendor problem management
  • Actively participate in regular team meetings, sharing project detail and product knowledge ensuring commonality of delivery and team cover.
Key Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years working experience with at least 3 years in-depth knowledge of:
    • Excellent in-depth knowledge of WMQ / WMB on UNIX/Windows/Linux/Mainframe, specific focus for Linux
    • Product upgrade experience from v7.0, or v8.0 for WMQ and WMB required.
  • Ability to work on multiple complex projects at the same time.
  • Ability to strive in a demanding and fast pace environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Highly capable at multitasking and be resourceful when gathering requirements, answers, problem resolutions, etc and applying Business answers to Technology standards and security baselines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for working with teams across the global enterprise.
  • Being able to explain WMQ / WMB technical requirements and deliverables simply and effectively to a wide variety of audiences.

Desired Skills (if any)
  • 3 years experience in a large financial institution
  • Solid understanding of High Availability methodology for Unix.
  • Microsoft Visio
