AVP / Manager, Global Markets Operations - Derivatives Documentation & Client Valuation (1-Year Renewable Contract)

This role reports to the Derivatives Documentation & Client Valuation team head, in Global Markets Operations Centre, assisting in day to day process of OTC Derivatives products legal Trade Confirmation and MTM Valuations provided to GMIM/PB/PFS clients. Subject-matter knowledge of OTC documentation and a clear understanding of a variety of clauses (and fallbacks) from agreements.

Providing support of daily BAU
  • Manage the legal Trade Confirmation processing of Over-The-Counter (OTC) Derivatives (both plain vanilla and structured derivatives) of all Asset Classes and structured deposits
  • Review and Draft of the legal Trade Confirmation as per input of key parameters, economic and non-economic from GMP / GMP Proxy / Manual spreadsheet / WSS
  • Cross check various data sets in order to ensure that Global Market Structuring Dealers and Sales correctly book deals in GMP / GMP Proxy / WSS of completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure trade confirmations are reviewed and duly executed in a timely manner
  • Ensure outstanding confirmations are properly chase up, escalated until fully executed
  • Identify issues and co-ordinate with relevant divisions internally (e.g. Legal/LDNC, Credit, GMIM desks etc.) for prompt resolution on disputed points ASAP
  • Ensure client MTM valuation reports / statements are reviewed and duly executed in a timely manner (e.g. ad-hoc , daily, monthly requests etc.)
  • Liaise with PCG group (formerly known as MRC) with regards to MTM valuation specifically on non-system computed transactions
  • Ensure that all OTC Derivatives Trade Confirmation templates are reviewed, vetted and approved by Legal / LDNC
  • Review and submit weekly, bi-weekly and monthly statistics including outstanding trade confirmations and follow up action points to management
  • Investigate on irregularities noted and escalate to the Team Head

Customer Service
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints
  • Proactively support and partner with Global Markets to deliver quality service that exceeds customers' expectations

Team Coverage
  • Ability to analyze issues and develop recommendations for improvements
  • Coverage rotations and essential duty assignments for team as needed

Job requirements:
  • Recognized Degree or Diploma in any one or a combination of these specializations - Banking / Finance / Accountancy / Computing
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in an Operations environment within a financial institution, preferably in derivatives and structured products
  • Candidates are required to be proficient in Trade Confirmation Template by Asset Classes, ISDA languages etc
  • A proven record of completing complex legal trade confirmation or documentation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical plus drafting skills
  • Ability to multi-task, identify priority issues and excellent execution style
  • Process improvement experience
