AVP, Team Lead, Operations, Trade Services, IBGO, Technology and Operations

Business Function

Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Head of STO where STO is part of CSTO supporting IBGO.
  • Manage a team size of between 5 to 10 staffs in charge for day to day operations and provide a second level check and/or authorisations.
  • Authorise daily transactions for the below mentioned products
  • Monitor and observe the workflow for approval and operations processes by ensuring that transaction volume is evenly distributed. Identify and resolve operational problems.
  • Promote goodwill and motivate healthy staff relationship
  • Recommend changes, if any on the matters concerning procedures and methodologies, organization, defining split of duties and job scope
  • Decision making during normal course of business for operational matters concerning presentation of documents, unclear instructions from client with regards to transactions, interpretation of ICC publications for banking practices and techniques etc.
  • To lead, motivate, provide guidance and training to staff to ensure goals/KPI are met.

Requirements

  • Degree holder from a recognized university.
  • At least 10 years working in Trade Finance operations within a bank, with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in managing a team. Knowledge in Structured and Commodity finance would be an added advantage.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong logical and problem-solving skills.
  • Conversant & competent in application of UCP600, ISBP, URC 522, ISP98, URR 725, ISP 98 and incoterms.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory sanction requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal & communications skills.
