AVP, Project Manager (Operational Risk Management)
Job Description

The Programme Management Team provides governance, oversight and execution of ORM's IT initiatives (existing and new) and ensures alignment to GRM and ORM's overall Operational Risk Strategic Vision. The Project Manager reports into Head, Programme Management, and the main responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and track multiple mid to large-scale project implementations, identify areas that can be streamlined and automated to improve staff productivity and reduce cost to serve
  • Work closely with the relevant parties (ORM Functional Lead, IT project manager, business units and vendors) to ensure that projects requirements and scope are well defined and managed
  • Apply effective SDLC methodology and project management standards
  • Evaluate project strengths and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure goals are met, including project timeline, budget, deliverables, customer satisfaction, quality and team member performance
  • Engage with the business units, regional offices and subsidiaries to ensure active participation in the projects and successful project delivery
  • Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved
  • Manage ORM systems that are currently in production (e.g. end user system administrator) and address system related user enquiries and escalations
  • Monitor and produce accurate and timely reporting of project status throughout its lifecycle


Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Degree holder in any IT-related field or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Project Management, preferably in Financial Services. Knowledge in Operational Risk Management or implementation of AI projects for risk management will be added advantage.
  • Systematic, tenacious and persistent in following up with multiple parties including senior stakeholders to achieve overall programme/project goals
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communications skills
  • Strong Process improvement, stakeholder, change and vendor management skills
  • Organised and able to manage multiple projects
  • Self-motivated with an ability to follow projects through to implementation
  • Knowledge on project management techniques (Waterfall, AGILE, etc), business process optimisation / improvement (Lean/Six Sigma/Design Thinking), new technologies used in the FI industry (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning) and project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Qlikview, Power BI)
