AVP, Credit Risk & Portfolio Manager - Consumer Banking, Risk Management Group

Business Function

Risk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. To manage risk effectively and run a successful business, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.


  • Track and analyse portfolio to ensure performances are within risk appetite and where appropriate; review and recommend policy changes to support maintenance of risk vs rewards within the portfolio
  • Formulate strategies via Data Driven insights, with use of MIS/ analytics to support changes or new initiatives
  • Work closely with Business/ Product Managers and other stakeholders in product and process design to ensure credit risk is properly dimensioned and managed
  • Submit proposals and document policies & guidelines in line with outcome of portfolio analysis and discussion with all stakeholders
  • Conduct portfolio stress tests
  • Support UAT required for any system changes/ enhancements which impact the reporting/ MIS function
  • Support scorecard monitoring and analysis; as well as develop and validate the score and risk forecasting models
  • Establish/ maintain appropriate consumer credit risk MIS for new bookings/ portfolio and ensure timely & accurate submission of monthly portfolio performance reporting to management
  • Support Credit Digitalisation projects.

  • Degree holder with at least 5 years' experience in a retail banking role, preferably in credit risk policy, MIS and portfolio management capacity.
  • Experience in managing the unsecured product/portfolio in a consumer credit setting, preferably with good understanding of the regulatory environment in Singapore (specifically requirements under MAS 635 and Regulations governing Credit Cards).
  • Experience in use of analytics to manage portfolio. Good SAS programming capability is advantageous.
  • Familiar with use of scorecards and performance of stress testing.
  • Knowledge of consumer credit cards and risk processes is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Knowledge in programming suites such as SAS, Python or R preferred.
  • Meticulous with strong analytical mind and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with good interpersonal, communication & writing skills.
