AVP - Fiduciary Specialist / Trustee / Corporate Trust
The Fiduciary Specialist is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the management and administration for the Trustee / Fiduciary relationship of a specific set of managed Fund clients
  • Assist in the provision, receipt, safekeeping and maintenance of legal and contractual client documentation
  • Assist in investment and borrowing monitoring checks for designated funds, monitoring aspects of investment guideline activity (where applicable)
  • Oversight and assist in the preparation of service level agreements for clients. Ensure agreed service levels commitments are monitored and tracked, and any issues identified are escalated to the relevant parties and followed through to resolution
  • Arrange and attend client meetings (as required) and cultivate and develop strong relationships with clients
  • Interaction with clients in respect of breaches and errors (as applicable)
  • Review legal documentation and ensure operational processes and procedures are appropriately captured
  • Instructing external counsel appointed to act for the trustee and escalating decisions as appropriate
  • Work with internal counsel on framework and procedures so that legal documentation adheres with internal requirements
  • Work collaboratively with internal support teams and external parties to resolve any outstanding client issues
  • Onboard and support the implementation of new business, including the review and negotiation of legal documentation
  • Ensure potential governance, risk and compliance considerations are monitored and mitigated and that procedures are current and internal reporting framework is adequate
  • Work on compliance and risk activities and monitoring (including outsourcing) to ensure the fiduciary activities are being cohesively adhered to based on compliance, legal and regulatory provisions and the business environment
  • Demonstrate awareness of inherent and residual operational and business risk and take steps to continuously mitigate them
  • Draft and provide board and committee level reporting on a periodic basis
  • Assist in the reporting and tracking of all findings to resolution
  • Work with the Fiduciary Operations function and other internal product lines on any query escalations they refer in connection to breaches, periodic reviews, escalations and similar, and provide training and assistance to them where required
  • Monitor activities of Operations through their procedures and client operation guidelines for immediate area of responsibility
  • Periodic oversight and due diligence of fund functionaries (as applicable) of managers, custodian, transfer agents or other entities as directed and assist in the preparation/review of draft and/or final reports as required, detailing issues that have been observed
  • Engagement in projects and additional tasks as required by the Senior Fiduciary personnel
  • Identification of process improvement opportunities
  • Awareness of regulatory and legislative requirements that affect the business
  • Support the business revenue targets are reported, tracked and monitored on a periodic basis
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency


Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of experience
  • The role would be suitable for people with previous audit, compliance, risk, legal, consultant experience with an connection to Fiduciary and Trustee Services
