AVP/MGR, Business Development, UOB Alternative Investment Management

UOBAIM is a growing alternative investment management firm with an Asian investment focus servicing a wide-range of global clients both institutional and individual.

As part of our business expansion, we are looking to hire an experienced Business Development professional. You will be responsible for growing our business by providing technical and product support to internal and external sales teams in the distribution, marketing and sales of our hedge fund and private equity fund products.

Job responsibilities:
  • Drive product delivery, client servicing and asset retention of our product offerings in collaboration with the distributors
  • Proactively work with Third-Party distributors to service gatekeepers and promote firm's offerings, obtain platform approvals and facilitate all aspects of the relationship.
  • Develop deep product expertise to serve as a local subject matter expert
  • Cultivate relationships across private banks and other channel partners (fund selectors; investment consultants; RMs; management)
  • Provide distribution channels and clients with timely, customized and value-added collateral for new product launches, sales and client retention
  • Develop content and update product materials to ensure active communication to all stakeholders
  • Work closely with product teams and portfolio managers to drive the content of product-specific marketing literature and sales tools
  • Coordinate with distribution channels to organize training sessions, product calls, fund manager roadshows, client events, conferences, product campaigns and PR/branding activities
  • Liaise with Legal and Compliance departments to ensure client materials are in accordance with firm's policies and local regulations for external distribution

Job requirements:
  • A degree /MBA in business/finance or equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a product specialist or alternative investment funds investment role within the fund management industry. Experience in a fund-of-funds investment role would be an advantage
  • Good understanding of alternative investments
  • Good network of relationships amongst institutional investors, accredited investors and distribution channels in and outside of Singapore
  • Strong work ethic and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to attend to detail while maintaining the big picture
  • Speak and read Chinese as you will handle mandarin speaking markets
  • Strong expertise with Powerpoint, Word and Excel
