We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as ASP Marketing Business Risk and Control Management.
In this role, you will

  • We are currently seeking experienced professionals to take on the role of Business Risk and Control Manager. The selected candidates will lead the execution of an effective operational risk and internal control management programme within the county marketing teams.
  • Assist the Marketing function in identifying and assessing operational risks and controls within acceptable levels to the scale and nature of the area's operations and within Group and regional standards and local regulations.
  • Monitoring the ongoing effectiveness of key controls to gain assurance that they are operating in line with risk appetite and any regulatory and HSBC requirements.
  • Ensure issues and risks arising are promptly and efficiently assessed, escalated and remediated.
  • Report incidents identified by the business or function in accordance with the HSBC standards.
  • Engage with the 2nd Line of Defence, the 3rd Line of Defence and external regulators at the direction of the Global Lead Business Risk and Control Manager.
  • Promote, communicate and, where appropriate, provide training in relation to the 1st Line of Defence, ensuring buy in to the Operational Risk methodology.
  • Raise awareness, understanding and knowledge of the Group's Three Lines of Defence model through internal communications.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

  • Substantial experience in banking, risk management or internal audit, with professional designation in risk or compliance preferred
  • Knowledge of regulations impacting wider personal or commercial financial services activities
  • Capacity to deliver sustainable high quality results while considering the long and short term impact and risk of actions on the Bank's operational risk profile and appetite
  • Ability to communicate openly with staff, management, internal partners and external parties while remaining open to new and better ways to manage operational risk
  • Commitment to upholding compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures, and engaging others to act responsibly and minimise operational risk and internal control issues
  • Sound holistic and technical understanding of pertinent business areas and Group requirements as detailed in the Group Standards Manual, Functional Instruction Manuals and other local standards
  • Capacity to analyse and assess complex operations and processes and identify related material risk exposures and key mitigating controls
  • Sound judgement, keen sense of urgency, and a high level of professional and personal integrity
