Role Responsibilities

Product management & Governance

  • Lifecycle Events, Restructures & On-Boarding - ensure fund Administration work effectively with internal partners and external service providers in planning and executing fund lifecycle events and fund enhancements (e.g., fund launches, liquidations, restructures, corporate action events, stock splits)

  • Tax & Accounting Policy Coordination - Partner with Accounting Policy and Product Tax teams to ensure account for the products that meets the relevant accounting standards and BlackRock policies. Lead matters related to establishment of appropriate tax accrual policies and other tax matters that may impact the funds including Financial Reporting

  • Product scope - all BlackRock APAC domiciled product (listed and unlisted) as well as acting as a liaison and providing appropriate support to functional teams for Non-APAC domiciled products.

  • Ensure local and global Fund Administration regulations are applied appropriately. This includes working with internal and external partners to ensure changes in regulation are understood and actioned accordingly.

Controls & Provider Management

  • Leading both the internal and external risk & control environment as it applies to pooled funds - apply BlackRock standard controls as well as designing and implementing scalable, strategic enhancements to facilitate the local fund structures and ecosystem. This includes applying BlackRock's comprehensive control framework to providers.

  • Oversight of all aspects of APAC fund valuations and delivery. This includes maintaining valuation methodologies and policies that uphold the highest fiduciary standards as well as the appropriate oversight framework to ensure accuracy and timeliness of production and service delivery by providers.

  • Operating Events - in coordination with the appropriate partners, communicate, handle and address any operating events that impact APAC products.

  • Policies and Procedures - ensure maintenance and application of these whilst benchmarking to global standards.

  • Ensure change is robustly managed both within the team and at the providers.

  • Primary escalation point of contact for provider relationship and oversight.

Regional responsibility for:

All the Global Accounting and Product Services functions including:

  • Portfolio Compliance and Threshold Reporting

  • Institutional Accounting

  • Transfer Agency Oversight

  • Financial Reporting

  • Performance Management & Attribution

  • Senior Relationship Management with Index, Market Data and Fund Service Providers in the Region

Experience & Skills

  • Incumbent will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership, contribute meaningfully outside of their direct functional responsibilities

  • Min 10 years' experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams

  • Highly proactive; willing to take ownership of issues and follow through to resolution

  • A positive, solutions orientated attitude and desire to learn

  • A passion for sponsoring, mentoring and developing talent regionally and functionally

  • Excellent business writing and proofreading skills and attention to detail

  • Strong time management and project skills with the ability to set and maintain priorities in a multi-task environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint and Excel; Access experience a plus
