Senior International Project Manager - Engineering
QNB Group, the largest Financial Institution in the Middle East and Africa are looking to hire a Senior International Project Manager - Engineering, to meet the expansion needs of our office in QNB - Qatar//Doha.

You will be responsible of evaluating all project proposals (from a technical view point) and establish the overall project management framework, ensuring that all projects undertaken by QNB are executed in compliance with the referenced framework. Your role mostly focuses on the Project Design phase and on monitoring the execution of branches and QNB subsidiaries in international markets. Role Description:

Develop the overall project management framework and ensure that all projects undertaken by QNB are executed or monitored in compliance with the referenced framework. These projects include setting up of new branches and/or facilities at international locations or renovation of existing branches owned/managed by QNB; in addition to special projects managed by QNB
Prepare master schedule of projects and work program of each project to be executed as per the budget
Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures and potential construction problems
Prepare budget estimates for the fit-out and renovation of International Branch projects & Control expenses within the approved budget
Create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for monitoring performance and quality measurement purposes for the Project Management Unit and monitor their achievement on periodic basis.
Assign engineers for every project and coordinate the efforts of team members and third party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan
Ensure that all project transactions in the provision of architectural services, site supervision and mechanical, electrical & plumbing (MEP) services are in compliance with the defined policies, procedures, project management standards and regulatory requirements
Identify, evaluate and select tenders and subcontractors in coordination with the Head of International Projects Management and the CPC committee for successful management and execution of deliverable projects
Follow up on the preliminary design stage and finalize the scope of works and design in co-ordination with the International Project Manager/Engineer.
Review of project design documents prepared by consultants and contractors and ensure they meet QNB requirements and regulatory standards
Ensure Project's Material Submittals and Shop Drawings are in conformity with project specifications
Review materials being used at sites for quality, quantity, price and follow-up on any requirements.
Identify where and when management of issues and risks or accommodating altered requirements will involve extra time or extra resources and where efficiencies can be made.
Monitor the needed resources (manpower, equipment, plant, material/ machinery, etc.) to direct and monitor the project operations, manage and control the project budget, review and approve cost reports and monitor progress with support from International Project Manager/Engineer.
Supervise the project operations and conduct weekly site visits and site meetings to ensure the progress of works.
Follow up on the implementation of terms and conditions as per the general conditions of contract in connection with subcontractors' work executed on sites, record work progress, recommended modification and take corrective action against any related issues/concerns on site.
Manage all project operations with a detailed eye, to ascertain timely, cost effective adherence to quality, health, safety, security and environment standards, overseeing efficiency of the operations within the scope of work and responsibilities as defined in the work budget and according to company procedures.
Continuously monitor progress in terms of the status of the plan and the budget and report back to Head of International Projects Management
Thoroughly verify and approve the billing and progress of work submitted by contractors and submit any comments/ suggestions
Follow-up with International Project Manager/Engineer on all project handovers and deliverables
Clearly set performance expectations to meet the team goals
Drive teams to achieve superior performance with stretched expectations
Detect new dynamics at work or early signs of change that may impact personal or team's effectiveness.
Consider how internal and external longer-term issues affect area plans.
Develop plans for specific work activities in own area over the medium term, including forecasting resource requirements.
Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
Understand the integration of Divisional plans and support Departmental plans.
Establish targets and designs systems to fulfil the strategic objectives & Mission of the Bank Qualifications:
You should have completed your university graduation in Civil Engineering/ Architecture
You should have 7 years of experience and at least 3 years in a similar job. Required Special Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of a project planning, implementation and management gained through experience using formal project planning tools and recognised project management methodology
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic (preferable).
- MS Office skills, Access, Primavera, and exceptional knowledge in CAD/CAM applications.
- Ability to effectively interact at all levels in the bank and outside contacts.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with teams from diverse cultural backgrounds
