Firmwide Finance Business Architecture - Features and Functions (Project Manager) - Vice President

The Firm-wide Finance Business Architecture (FFBA) team is responsible for the Global Finance organization Data Acquisition & Consumption (including Credit Risk & Treasury), Financial & Management Reporting, and General Ledger (GL) Target Platform Strategies. The team has established a consolidated framework that creates opportunities for broad-scale communication, streamlined governance, and increased oversight.

A key objective of the Business Architect Team is to manage the delivery of large scale infrastructure programs and business process change management events to ensure accurate, complete and consistent data is readily available for both internal financial reporting and external regulatory reporting purposes, consumed by both LOB stakeholders and corporate groups.

One of the top priorities across Global Finance, Credit Risk, and Treasury is to evolve the organization to a more integrated data and reporting strategy - one that is globally consistent and usable for business, finance, risk and regulatory requirements.

As a member of the Business Architecture Team, you will work closely with Line of Business stakeholders, data Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Consumers and technology teams across Finance, Credit Risk & Treasury and the various Program Management teams.

The Business Architecture Features & Functions team is responsible for developing solutions for feed management (function responsible for tracking the arrival and departure of data from various platforms such as FRW/Everest), reconciliation (function that compares transactions and positions brought on to FRW / Everest to the General Ledger to ensure the accuracy and validity of financial information), data validation and error corrections (function responsible for ensuring that transactions and positions brought on to FRW / Everest is suitable for use by running business-defined validation rules against them, and if not met, provide the ability to correct the data) and adjustments (function that provides the ability to amend the data in FRW / Everest for missing risk or to correct existing records as needed). These features are critical to ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data sent downstream for external and internal reporting purposes.

The Finance Risk Warehouse (FRW) is a firm-wide platform, which sources transaction level data across all LOB's and products for use by downstream consumers. Everest is the next evolution of FRW using Big Data and strategic Logical Data Models.

Responsibilities:

As part of the Business Architecture Features & Functions team you will have a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Assist in determining feature recommendations and strategy, including translating analysis and results into business strategy
  • Identify pragmatic feature solutions for transitioning from various non-strategic solutions to Everest
  • Act as an interface with control partners, ensuring projects comply with all risk and control
  • Assist in defining project requirements and deliverables by identifying, driving and participating in project milestones, phases as well as specific action items
  • Drive and/or assist in the creation of more efficient, integrated operating models and infrastructure
  • Monitor projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing issue resolution and taking corrective action as necessary
  • Actively participate and collaborate in work stream meetings and ad hoc working sessions including driving agendas, preparing meeting minutes and keeping track of agreed actions
  • Create and produce periodic executive reports and presentations for senior management
  • In partnership with Implementation leads, Release managers, Project managers and other data SMEs understand various Lines of Business and asset class data and source system flows and complexities as it relates to the Finance and Risk applications and infrastructure
  • Work in an Agile framework to write business requirements (in the form of user stories) to enhance the data and/or toolsets within FRI.
  • Prioritize the backlog of user stories for delivery, based on alignment to the schedule deployment plan
  • Engage with development teams to ensure business needs are translated into appropriate technical specifications, and acceptance criteria is met
  • Perform user acceptance testing and form an opinion about the overall features & functions pertaining to each change
  • Other ad-hoc requests as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelors' degree required
  • 7+ years of related experience (financial services and/or regulatory reporting is a plus)
  • Experience with understanding and testing large quantities of data across multiple products
  • Experience with Agile delivery and the JIRA tool a plus
  • Ability to quickly learn and assimilate business and technical knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor messaging to various audiences
  • Ability to lead and influence and build strong relationships with partner teams
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently
  • Must be detail oriented, highly responsible and able to work with tight deadlines
  • Strong team-orientation and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; sound judgment with a risk mindset
  • Overall strong desktop skills with particular emphasis in Excel
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering results across multiple teams and interdependencies
  • Ability to lead, influence and build strong relationships with people and teams at varying levels across the organization
  • Knowledge and experience of traditional credit (Loans, Deposits, Cash) and trading products (Derivatives and Securities) a plus
