Corporate Finance - EMEA Controller - GL Accounting - Associate
Firmwide Controllers is aglobal organization of approximately 1,500 colleagues, operating through apartnership among Accounting Policy & SEC Reporting, Bank Controller,Corporate Controllers Business Management, Finance Control Office, FirmwideFinance Business Architecture, Firmwide Financial Accounting & Reporting,Corporate Sector Controllers, Global Finance India, Strategic ReengineeringFunction and Valuation Control Group. Working together, our strengths and resources enable us to ensure theintegrity of the JPMorgan Chase consolidated books and records and the resultsof individual legal entities within the Firm. The controllership function isfocused on ensuring and improving the organization's credibility throughaccounting, financial controls, systems and reporting.

Corporate Sector Controllers is responsible for financial and operational GLaccounting activities, internal controls, and financial reporting for theCorporate LOBs (ex CIO, Treasury and Private Equity), as well as centrallymanaged Firm-wide GL accounting activities. The Corporate Sector Controllersglobal LOB coverage areas include Global Real Estate, Human Resources, GlobalTechnology, Legal, Tax, Compliance, Corporate Responsibility, Communication,Strategy, Regulatory Affairs, Oversight & Control, Intelligent Solutions,JPMC Foundation, Corporate Contributions, Sourcing & Procurement, GlobalServices, Operational Control, Corporate Other and Corporate Staff Functions(Audit, Executive, Finance, Risk, Security, Tax, etc). Additionaloperational responsibilities include Legal Entity Controllership, RegulatoryReporting, Controls, Real Estate Construction Accounting and Telecommunications(Data & Voice) Invoice & Contract Management .


This role may be involved in the direct GL booking, instructionor oversight of monthly GL processes, reporting and analysis. Primaryresponsibilities may include payment processing, cash management, GL fixed assetmaintenance, and balance sheet account reconciliation. The role may alsoinvolve:

  • Interaction with key stakeholders: Corporate LOB functional teams,Finance, Legal Entity Controllers, Tax, External vendors/business partners, internal/externalaudit groups, and others
  • Foreign Exchange processing and reporting
  • Detailed understanding and documentation of all activities

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience required in GL accounting/finance-related areas, with demonstrated career progression
  • Part or fully qualified accountant
  • Structured mindset with process/continuous improvement orientation
  • Proven ability to work well with various partners and customers
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and financial skills with a track record of execution against deliverables
  • Creative self-starter with strong initiative, ability to take ownership and work independently as well as contribute to the broader team
  • Ability to multi-task and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, multi-national language skills preferable, but not required
  • Experience preferred with automated financial systems, database management, worksheet-modeling tools (Excel)
