GLOBAL COMPLIANCE
Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm's culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm's enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm's second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm's compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm's responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. BUSINESS UNIT AND ROLE OVERVIEW

Financial Crime Compliance ("FCC") has primary responsibility for the execution of the firm's enterprise-wide Anti-Money Laundering ("AML"), anti-bribery, and government sanctions compliance programs and, among other things, performs enhanced due diligence and government sanctions screening, as well as surveillance and investigations designed to identify potential terrorist financing, money laundering, bribery, market abuse, or other suspicious activity.

OPPORTUNITY

There is an opportunity to join the Consumer FCC team that builds and maintains the AML program for Marcus UK, the Goldman Sachs retail bank in the UK, and to contribute in shaping up the Financial Crime function within. The role is open to start immediately.

The successful candidate will join the Consumer Financial Crime Compliance group and assist in developing the strategy for the retail bank's AML program. They will participate in managing a global project which will include regulatory analysis, developing surveillances and procedures, and contributing to the implementation of technology solutions and advising the Business on AML Compliance issues. The successful candidate will also be given certain responsibilities around performing enhanced due diligence, conduct surveillances and investigate suspicious activity, draft and file SARs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Solid knowledge of the AML Regulations and of the JMLSG Guidance, in particular as it relates to CDD and the Retail space
  • Prior AML and/or anti-fraud experience
  • Understanding of the opportunities, challenges and risks in the digital banking sector, particularly as they relate to AML and Fraud
  • Ability to work independently and yet still be team-oriented
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to new changes and new challenges
  • Ability to prioritize work flows and ensure deadlines are met
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivots, VLookups) and PowerPoint
