Software Quality Assurance Engineer, Senior Associate
The Software QA Engineer has a solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for mainframe and open system architecture applications in support of accounting, derivatives processing or securities valuation processes. This role is responsible for the Quality Assurance tasks within the agile development process, working with full time staff as well as vendor personnel. The individual will participate in testing best practices and process improvements for test execution with a high focus on test automation.

In this role the candidate will:

• Follow the set of procedures described in the GQS Quality Engineering Playbook. Use the GQS set of approved testing tools according to best practices.
• Follow requirements analysis, create test plans and manual/automated test cases for each assigned application.
• Determine regression testing scope for each project. Review and update the regression testing pack after each release.
• Execute manual and automated tests as defined in the test plan. Diagnose system problems and recommend solutions.
• Depending on the project size, assign testing related tasks to team members and monitor execution.
• Prepare project report and ensure metrics are kept up to date.
• Review daily processes and suggest improvements as required.
• Follow State Street standards regarding working time logging, absences, training and other administrative activities.

Desired skillset and education:
• B.S., Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of work experience with a financial software environment
• Strong attention to detail and a commercial focus
• Proven problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work towards multiple deadlines successfully and participate in large-scale testing projects
• Experience with software engineering standards, metrics and quality assurance principles
• Knowledge of defect tracking systems and their effective usage environment
• The ability to interact and communicate effectively with other sites of State Street

Job requirements:
• Good working knowledge of SIMCORP dimension
• Knowledge of asset management and investment banking
• Good German reading and acceptable speaking skills (due to German documentation)

Nice to have:
• Knowledge of Automation testing Tools and/or programming or scripting languages
• Experience with Test Complete automation test suite
• SQL query skills and experience working with database technology
