Technology Buyer - Global Communications & Network

Booking.com BV is looking for a Technology Buyer to join our Global Technology Procurement Team based in our headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

In your role you will be responsible for the development and execution of the IT and Telecoms Procurement across all IT divisions (IT services / Core Infra / Security / BPO), working with stakeholders to prioritize, execute and drive value for Booking.com within the category.

The Technology Buyer will report into and work alongside the relevant category lead or the Global Procurement Manager, in the interim to establish a centralized procurement function with an emphasis on procurement where they will be responsible for supporting contractual and commercial negotiations with third-party vendors.

B.responsible

  • As part of the Tech Buying group, supporting the Tech Procurement leadership team, establish a value add centralized function in line with Booking's strategic directions
  • Provide support and help develop the newly formed team responsible for the relevant area of IT
  • Support the overall Comms, Network and SMS Procurement activity across Booking.com including tendering and vendor management
  • Support the business and internal relationships for vendor and commercial management across the Booking's Strategic vendors, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned
  • Own commercial discussions on new Comms, Network and SMS products and expansion of strategic communications roadmap
  • Manage 3 rd party mobility outsourced relationship
  • Single point of contact for all issues regarding Comms, Network and SMS vendor performance including the management of this performance, third party risks, business controls, reviews, renewals and strategic sourcing for all providers
  • In conjunction with IT stakeholders and business stakeholders - evaluate providers for fit with Booking.com requirements
  • Negotiates key business terms with providers in line with Booking requirements, ensuring all internal stakeholders are involved
  • Supports and oversees engagements on all vendor audits globally, working with local stakeholders as appropriate to manage financial exposure, contractual obligations to reduce risk and to ensure corrective actions are taken when identified
  • Ensure all contractual and working relationships are in line with all compliance obligations
  • Maintain an inventory of over 600 Internet and Voice circuits, and constantly seek to optimize these contracts, agreements, and costs.
  • You will work towards the consolidation of vendors, actively seeking external partner(s) to manage and maintain our connectivity landscape.
  • Work with ITP Ticketing, ensuring workload, resolution and end-user experience are optimized.

B.Skilled
  • Background in IT purchasing and vendor management on a global scale, ideally from a Telco background, or directly within a large enterprise maintaining circuits and voice lines;
  • Experience in Circuit Management, and the end to end cut-over process;
  • Experience in delivering SIP, SIP to Branch, SDSL, DIA, Leased Lines and ISDN technologies;
  • Experience with tender processes and RFP analysis;
  • Understanding of contract language and service level agreements for network infrastructure services;
  • Experience in negotiating Internet / Voice contracts and terms at an enterprise level;
  • Independent, pragmatic and proactive work attitude;
  • Internationally focused and an awareness of different cultures;
  • Experience working with global stakeholders across multiple business areas;
  • Knowledge / Experience in supporting global programs across multiple vendors;
  • Excellent and timely verbal and written communication skills required as well as demonstrated ability to present to Executive Management;
  • Strong negotiation skills required;
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction;
  • Comfortable with making business decisions independently
