Group Product Manager, Defensive Security & Operations

As the Group Product Manager of the Defensive Security group within the Security department of, you will bring seasoned product management experience and the subject matter expertise in the domain of defensive security, including but not limited to threat detection and response, asset management, security orchestration & workflow automation and cyber security operations. In this role you will provide strategy and threat based insights and prioritization to the Cyber Security Infrastructure teams to bring the security capabilities of the company to the next level.

You will lead a team of product managers working in their specific domains and be a force-multiplier by working closely with the threat detection, analysis, and response teams for the delivery of capabilities able to detect, alert, and block on attacker activity. You will ensure that at any point we have a clear and validated understanding of our end-to-end security posture.

The Security team covers a range of security disciplines from vulnerability management, detection, alerting and response management through to measurement and reporting of the organisation's security posture. These teams support and enable all operational teams, from infrastructure to application and all the way to fraud prevention, in their detection and response capabilities.

  • Define the product strategy for the cyber security product teams operating in the defensive operations space
  • Work with Product Managers to deliver product features that help improve the security posture of and improve the detection and response capability.
  • Understand at a broad level, the cyber security threats and paradigms in which Booking operates in.
  • Provide data and threat driven insights into improvement opportunities of security capabilities
  • Manage trade-offs between cost, tactical priorities and strategic fit
  • Analyze key metrics to measure and evaluate performance
  • Communicate with other teams and departments across the business to drive Security initiatives end-to-end and support business needs
  • Proactively research new methods, tools, and strategies to effectively identify threats.
  • Support and drive a holistic threat mitigation program from use case development, to response automation and runbook design.
  • Enthusiastic, self-starting and enjoy new initiatives
  • Collaborate and support colleagues across the organization, while still able to work independently

Your experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in senior product management position
  • 3+ years of experience in security practices
  • 1+ years of experience in managing people, preferably product managers
  • Demonstrates the ability to make decisions, assess and resolve problems effectively
  • Strong business focus and the ability to prioritize tasks accordingly; highly organized and able to keep track of all moving parts across the domains of responsibility
  • Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to develop consensus across diverse communities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a "can do" attitude toward problem solving.
  • Wide knowledge of and experience with common industry frameworks and methodologies and practical experience on pragmatic operation in these areas e.g. MITRE ATT&CK; NIST CSF; Killchains; OWASP, SANS; OCSP; Red/ Purple Team activities, threat modelling
  • Very comfortable working in English, both written and spoken
