Assistant Manager - Statutory Accounts Subject Matter Expert
The Global Compliance Management Services centre is seeking to fill a full time Statutory Accounts subject matter expert. This position will be part of the Global Compliance Management Services (GCMS) practice which are priority global tax service lines of KPMG. GCMS assists multinational companies and local companies to manage their corporate compliance requirements effectively and efficiently.
Overall responsibilities include working with colleagues and clients across multiple jurisdictions in performing the below listed compliance activities. These responsibilities will include :
Statutory Reporting Preparation, Reviewer, and Coordination:
o Preparing Statutory Financial Statements and associated working papers
o Reviewing Statutory Financial Statements and working papers prepared by team
o Ability to discuss & facilitate resolution of accounting and auditing requirements with client's
o Provide robust fluctuation analysis working with client
o Present financial statements to client Directors
o Coordination of clients statutory accounts
o The role is expected to work across multiple jurisdictions
o Support integration of operational transfer pricing with statutory processes
o Role may be asked to support transfer pricing exercise
o Supporting corporate tax computations and tax returns from data used to prepare statutory accounts
o May be asked to assist to support compliance processes
o Applying documentation retention standards per KPMG risk management policies
o Working with data (retrieval, reconciliation, and analysis) necessary for compliance
o Coordination and workflow management
Qualifications and Education requirements:
o A recognized university degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economics or relevant field are preferred.
o Professional qualification in Accounting (ACCA, ICAEW, MICPA, CPA, CIMA, etc)
o 4+ years' related experience (preferably statutory and audit) with exposure to financial statement preparation/ auditing and accounting standards
o Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
o Possess analytical and problem solving skills.
o Strong capability with technology
o Must be able to work independently as well as in a team to manage in a fast pace environment.
o Proactive, responsible, and inquisitive are key to being successful in this role.
