About the Opportunity

 

The Specialist Tax Audit supports to the Head of Manager Transfer Pricing and Marketing and Tax Team members to provide requested information for federal, state or local tax regulatory bodies, vendors, JV Partners, internal auditors and external financial statement auditors.

 

Core Accountabilities:
•Demonstrating and instilling an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
•Conforming with the our Organisational Charter, Corporate Requirements, Codes of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
•Ensuring compliance and commitment to our Organisational Tax Principles and tax obligations
•Gather, review, analyse and present data and information supporting audit queries from tax regulators, vendors, JV partners, internal auditors, and external financial statement auditors
•Identifying continuous, sustainable improvement and simplification opportunities in the compliance area
•Working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure tax implications of transactions are properly accounted.
•Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis data for requests from the Head of Global Tax, CFO and other senior management
•Interfacing with auditors, information gathering and helping to reduce any potential assessment
•Analyse accounting records including sales data, accounts payable records, fixed asset records and financial statements requested under audit.

Required experience / remit:
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with a large corporate or professional environment
•Experience in audit or tax compliance preferred
•Proficient in data management & analytical skills to evaluate data and react quickly
•Experience with ERP Applications (SAP tax accounting solution) preferred
•Strong Microsoft office suite (especially Excel)
•Strong organization skills a must, Ability to work within tight deadlines
•Oil & gas or mining industry experience preferred
•Transfer pricing experience beneficial

                

About you

 
•Bachelor’s degree qualification in accounting or finance
•Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA/CA) or similar tax qualifications, either completion
• Fluent English, both verbal and written
•There may be a requirement to work an afternoon shift time to time (3pm – 12am) over critical periods to enable overlap with US stakeholders.
