Deloitte Southeast Asia is searching for a suitable candidate to join the team of the regional United Nations Account as a Climate Change Expert.


The United Nations Account within Deloitte Southeast Asia is fast growing and dynamic. It offers its members an unparalleled opportunity to develop their leadership capabilities and to be part of a team of professionals dedicated to making an impact that matters. In view of its regional expansion, the firm is seeking to hire a Climate Change Expert to support its work for the United Nations and Not-for-Profit and Donor organizations. The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Work you'll do

The Climate Change Expert will work on several tasks, including:

  • Business development including the drafting of climate-related proposals
  • Provide technical assistance for climate-related project delivery throughout SEA
  • Stay ahead of trends and developments relevant to climate change, sustainability and finance
  • Raise awareness and increase engagement on climate issues through content creation (e.g. newsletters)

  • Bachelors in sustainability, environmental science, law, business, or other relevant discipline required. Masters or equivalent is preferred
  • 3+ years of full-time experience working with governments, NGOs, and/or private sector on climate change, climate adaptation, CSR and/or other relevant subjects
  • Expertise on at least one relevant topics, such as corporate strategy, renewable energy, sustainable supply chain, green finance, climate risk assessment
  • In-depth knowledge of key regulations, issues, stakeholders and corresponding business implications
  • Knowledge and experience with SDGs and the UN system preferred
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and expertise with mixed research methods
  • Fluency in English (additional proficiency in Southeast Asian or official UN language is an asset) as well as communication and presentation skills
