A Middle Office role within Financial Markets Operations, with a focus on FX, Rates, Credit and Commodity (FXRCC) derivatives business covering cash and derivatives products

  • Provide support to the global FXRCC business but primarily focused on Asia.
    • Trade/Portfolio Validation
    • Trade/Position Reconciliation
    • Brokerage Management
    • Lifecycle event reporting
    • Query management
    • MI Reporting
    • Drive process improvement/efficiencies
  • Ensure that FXRCC transactions for both Vanilla and Structured products are correctly booked into the Transaction Processing system (Sabre & Murex) by verifying against source documents.
  • Ensure that approved product programs and country addendums are in place for new deals traded whenever possible.
  • Perform reconciliation between systems or between different desk by using TLM system
  • Escalate all exceptions for “missed” “unresolved” trade, generic counterparty booking, unapproved product trading etc
  • Closely monitor upstream systems as to ensure all deals feed into our Trading platform successfully. Any deals that fail to STP smoothly to Trading platform will require investigation.
  • Highlight any discrepancies to the Front Office, relevant downstream departments and superiors
  • Attend to deals booking related queries & investigations
  • Manage, guide and lead the team to facilitate effective verification & escalation of the transactions
  • Participate in evaluating system enhancements, UATs and projects
  • Work closely with New Product Group and any relevant downstream departments in supporting any new products or businesses
  • Constant review of DOI to ensure complete and accurate recording of process
  • Escalate of all exceptions and breaks in accordance to escalation metrics
  • Ensure audit issues are being addressed and solutions provided.
  • Escalate any new control gaps, all exceptions and ensure all discrepancies & escalations are investigated, responded & resolved by within acceptable timeline
  • Ensure timely completion of KCSA and duly followed
  • Ensure that all exceptions are reported to Manager in accordance to the Escalation policy
  • Involve in Project/BOW meetings
  • Team management
    • All internal protocol or escalations to be followed stringently
    • Ensure team completes all mandatory and e-Learning courses before deadlines
    • Ensure periodic review of team’s system access is checked for any unauthorised or irrelevant access to be revoked
    • Ensure audit issues are being addressed and solutions provided
    • Conduct periodic team meetings and 1 to 1 meetings with the team members
    • Manage staff covers and training to ensure sufficient coverage at all times
    • To provide guidance to the team during UAT & on daily BAU
    • Ensure the daily EOD checklists/tasks are completed and attested by team manager

 

Qualifications & Skills

 

  • Middle Office experience from Sales / Trading support or Trade Control
  • Preferred degree: Finance related degree (BSc/MSc) and/or engineering/statistics/ actuarial sciences degree
  • Must have been managing a Financial Markets Operations / Middle Office team of not less than 3 analyst
  • Domain expertise (product characteristics, payoff, trade events and risk replication ) across Financial markets products, with focus in FXRCC
  • Strong user knowledge of transaction capture and processing systems
