Job Summary:

Ensure effective management of Great Eastern Takaful Berhad (GETB) Compliance function which act as the second line of defense. Provide advice and technical support to management as well as to monitor and ensure that the business operates within the internal and external rules.

The Role:
  • Representation at Committees [Local (MY) Management, Industry Association and other functional committees]
  • Enforce Agency Conduct Management Practices which include compliance surveillance and due diligence on Agency business
  • Implement local MY Financial Crime Framework which includes AML/CFT framework, Agent's Conduct, Fraud Prevention and Anti-Fraud Measures
  • Implement local MY Compliance Framework which includes develop the Compliance Matrix & Compliance Requirement Self-Assessment (CRSA), coordinate the feedback for Consultation/Concept Paper and disseminate new regulations
  • Support local MY Management in Operations Compliance matters which include regulatory compliance, product compliance and internal policies compliance
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects as assigned by CEO/ Board Risk Management Committee


Job Requirements
The Person:
  • Tertiary or professional qualification in Accountancy / Law or Insurance (FLMI, FMII etc.)
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in internal audit/ insurance or banking industry
  • Knowledgeable in Insurance law and related regulation i.e. Agency and contract law
  • Knowledgeable in treasury, fund and asset management
  • Good comprehension of compliance guidelines
  • Good product knowledge
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to interact with senior management
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Analytical and details oriented
