2018 Young Banker’s Programme – Finance

Our FINANCE DIVISION :

  • Tracks and analyses financial data generated from the businesses in the Bank.
  • Supports our business units by providing performance analytics through Management Information System, enabling measurement of performance against history, and plans for the business segments and branches.
  • Facilitates an efficient allocation of financial resources within the bank, and we also identify performance trends and highlights opportunities or threats, in steering the Bank for management decision making.
  • Plans and manages the Bank's funding and capital resources so that there are adequate financial resources for the bank to grow. In addition, the team also evaluates new business opportunities that would strategically enhance our competitiveness.
Corporate Treasury, is part of our Finance division and :
  • Acts as the secretariat to the Bank's Asset and Liability Management Committee,
  • Is responsible for the Bank's balance sheet and liquidity management, resource allocation and provides oversight over the setting of the Bank's base rate, transfer pricing policy, recovery and resolution planning.

With various control functions such as Treasury Financial Control and Advisory, Financial Control and Tax, the division seeks to :
  • Ensure high standards are maintained for the Bank's financial and regulatory reporting
  • Ensure compliance with the statutory tax requirements.
Our Finance division communicate regularly with external stakeholders such as Bank Negara Malaysia, the Rating Agency of Malaysia and analysts in keeping them abreast of the Bank's financial performance and strategies.
