Specialist Investment Management Oversight

Team Overview

The Investment Management Team has responsibility on the oversight of the delegated functions for the portfolio management activities. The team is covering different duties among which performing due diligence on external and internal investment managers, looking for the best oversight model in order to cover the management company responsibility in terms of delegated functions for the portfolio management activities, and also enhancing the governance structure in that aspect. The team also produces performance analysis and competitors or trends reviews.

The Team reports directly to the Head of Distribution and Investment Mangement.

Overview of role

The candidate is responsible in assisting the Team Lead of Investment Management in the following tasks:
• Conducting the investment manager initial and on-going Due Diligence process for both traditional and alternative investment managers (i.e. hedge funds, private equity funds, etc.), including onsite visit;
• Coordinating the manager due diligence meetings, calls, onsite visits and prepare summary internal communication, as appropriate;
• Developing best-class model to enhance oversight on the delegated function of portfolio activities and reporting tools;
• Solving issues with regards to the investment management of the funds;
• Producing reporting and KPIs as well as competitors or trend analysis on demand;
• Participate to ALFI Working groups or others in the name of Schroders;
• Ensure a good communication with risks, compliance, product and the investment desks;

Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 year-experience in the Funds Industry, preferably within an asset management company;
• Knowledge of operational model with portfolio managers will be an asset;
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Luxembourg Funds Industry framework and UCITS requirements;
• University background: A Master degree in economics, Finance or Financial Services;

• Pro-active and problem solving;
• Good judgment, enthusiasm and willingness to learn;
