Head of ALCM & Regulatory Finance

In order to strengthen our Luxembourg team, we are looking to recruit a:

Head of ALCM & Regulatory Finance
Permanent contract

Reporting to the Luxembourg Country Chief Financial Officer, the position is part of the Finance leadership team in Luxembourg and will have a role in monitoring the Asset and Liabilities for the entities in Luxembourg, and in managing the Finance regulatory reporting.

Role and Responsibilities:

The role offers significant exposure across all financial disciplines as well as to the Risk functions of the Bank. 

It will also have exposure to senior individuals in Luxembourg, with frequent and engaging contact with the Luxembourg executive members.

Principal accountabilities:

• Ensure ALCO responsibilities are fully discharged. Deliver efficient ALCOs with increased risk forward looking visibility
• Adopt Finance operational processes to new regulatory requirements, especially regulatory reporting
• Ensure business units operates within the limits of risk appetite and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
• Recommend or support any business and strategic initiatives improving returns of their balance sheet, liquidity and capital resources and/or improving risk management
• Support the CFO across the various functions within the HSBC Luxembourg entities to ensure optimum use of the entities’ capital, liquidity, balance sheet and return on RWAs
• Regulators (CSSF, BCL, FGDL…) – contact person for regulatory finance matters
• BSM – local coordinator for Balance Sheet Management (BSM) activities and ensure BSM operates within risk appetite and local regulatory requirements

Experience and skills required:
• Education and qualifications in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or equivalent
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in finance, accounting, regulatory reporting, and/or risk management within the banking & financial services industry
• Excellent knowledge of financial risk management practices
• Excellent knowledge of banking regulatory environment at EU level (e.g. CRR, SSM, BRRD…)
• Good understanding of Treasury processes and related products (cash, liquidity, balance sheet management, derivatives
• Good understanding of Banking processes and related products & services
• Good understanding of accounting & financial control processes
• Self-motivated and capable to work on own initiative, demonstrating a high standard of work and accuracy, especially when under pressure
• A very good grasp of Microsoft Excel spread sheet tool combined with a high interest in data management and IT processes engineering. Previous experience of regulatory reporting software (e.g. WKFS, Plexus…)
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, project management, problem-solving, presentation and verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player and people motivator and track record in delivering to demanding timescales.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in English; French is desirable but not mandatory.
