Financial Accountant
Financial Accountant (M/F)

Who we're looking for

The Financial Accountant will be part of the Continental European Financial Controlling Team.
The successful candidate will bring knowledge in Financial/Management Accounting and manage the relationships with relevant counterparties in Europe and with the Head Office.

What you'll do

  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and year-end closings
  • Responsible for the internal reporting to the headquarter in London and to the local offices
  • Responsible for key controls, reconciliations and adequate documentation
  • Responsible for tax compliance
  • Maintain and own the integrity of financial records
  • Providing timely, accurate and business relevant financial commentary and business decision support
  • Act as the liaison point for all third-party matters (auditors, tax consultants etc.)
  • Proactively seek opportunities for process improvements

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • At least 2 years accounting, financial or auditing experience post qualification (degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance)
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles (Accounting qualifications (e.g. ACCA, ACA) would be an advantage)
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month-end closure process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills (e. g. ORACLE, SAP)
  • Good level of Excel knowledge
  • Fluent in English, any other European language skills would be an advantage (French, German or Italian)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Focused on quality and timely delivery
  • Demonstrating integrity and accountability
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Well organised with hands-on problem solving attitude
  • Ability to work in a matrix structure
  • Ability to work with a broad range of people from different backgrounds / nationalities
  • Willing to travel occasionally

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

  • Experience in tax, good understanding of VAT matters
  • Strong analytical skills with high affinity with numbers
  • Good business sense
  • Creativity and ability to analyse problems from new angles and provide optimized solutions
