About the role
The Assistant Controller primarily assists the Controllers and Senior Controllers in their core responsibilities in the administration of the funds management by the clients of IA&R Luxembourg. In conjunction with aiding the Controller, the Assistant Controller will also be responsible for reviewing and correcting the work of the SPV Accountant and/or the work produced and provided by any affiliate of IA&R Luxembourg that has been assigned the responsibilities of the SPV Accountant.
Main Responsibilities
The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records, and where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by the regulator.
The jobholder will implement the compliance policy and procedures (the term "compliance" embraces all relevant financial services and laws, rules and codes that the business has to comply with) this will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and completing the mandatory Company's trainings in a timely manner, thus fostering a compliance culture within the Company.

Main Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate general ledger of assigned funds, often as the reviewer of the SPV Accountant(s).
- Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements (statement of financial position, income statement, and various other accounting statements).
- Research open accounting issues and liaise with the relevant parties to solve them.
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Aggregate financial data on the portfolio level.
- Assistance to ad hoc project and Group initiatives.
- Read and understand legal documents and record business transactions.
- Assist the Controller in responding to various audit or any third parties queries.
- Suppling tax advisors with information packs for the preparation of indirect and direct tax returns after review upon receipt from the SPV Accountant.
- Prepare the monthly/quarterly capital availability report.
- Prepare the monthly recharging reconciliation.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of four years of relevant accounting experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and interact effectively with management, employees, and clients.
- Must have the ability to convey financial issues to non-financial users.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles.
- Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
- Follows accounting practices to ensure optimum client satisfaction while guaranteeing IA&R Luxembourg financial interests are protected.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents.
- Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
- Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Experience with automated accounting and financial management systems.
