Today, Societe Generale in Japan consists of three core businesses: Societe Generale, Tokyo Branch; Societe Generale Securities Japan Limited; and Lyxor Asset Management Japan. These three entities are in line with our worldwide focus on Investment Banking, Global Finance and Global Markets, and Asset Management

Primary Objectives:

  • Excellence in pre-closing, closing and post-closing monitoring of loan products booked at Societe Generale Tokyo Branch.
  • Seamless handling of a portfolio of Structured Finance deals with timely management of waivers and consent requests.
  • Ensure operational excellence (zero operational loss, any incidents should be logged and followed up with root cause analysis and preventative action plans).
  • Ensure compliance with the Group's Culture and Conduct principles.
  • Good collaboration and team work with local and regional colleagues, building trust & confidence.


Major Accountabilities/Principal Responsibilities:


  • Monitoring of all Structured Finance loan products in Tokyo. The primary function is controlling the validity of deal data and monitoring the deal to mitigate credit and operational risks. Provide Middle Office support to the Export Finance, Real Estate Finance, Aircraft Finance and Corporate Loan business lines. This includes the review of loan documentation for new deals booked in Tokyo.
  • Carry out Agency functions for JBIC, Real Estate and Aircraft Finance transactions.
  • Support credit monitoring activities of the regional team (Structured Finance Middle Office team in Hong Kong) with the monitoring of covenant compliance, preparation and submission of waiver requests and annual reviews. Take full ownership of deals that have been assigned.
  • Provide portfolio management services such as the preparation of portfolio reports and reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation of local regulatory reporting to BOJ or FSA.
  • Work closely with the back-office operation teams to ensure seamless operation of the loan transactions with regards to loan payments and system booking.
  • Ensure that all relevant local and global procedures are followed and strive for process improvement where applicable, with focus on reviewing existing local processes. Contribute to the effective implementation of productivity and innovation initiatives within the local team.
  • 8. Apply all Group rules and procedures linked to financial crime risks prevention (KYC, AML, sanctions and embargo) on a daily basis. Contribute to adapt rules and processes linked to compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that regulatory requirements and code of conduct guidelines are properly managed.
  • Attend to all training sessions dealing with regulatory and compliance obligations and contribute to regular update of procedures and training materials related to those topics.
  • Monitor that all transaction data, Risk Weighted Asset parameters and all other key data are exhaustive and reliable in all relevant systems. This monitoring should be based on existing reporting or new reports to define.

Need to be familiar with structured finance products including JBIC and NEXI related project & export finance transactions. Need to be proficient in understanding loan agreements and other documents associated with loans (in both English and Japanese).
  • Have a good understanding and experience of structured finance loan operations.
  • Having a strong and positive impact on customer relations. Putting long-term relationships with our clients / internal partners at the center of our actions, whatever our position.
  • Sound knowledge of operational risks and ability to raise relevant alerts to FO.
