Finance Department Associate

Primary Objectives

  • To be involved in comprehensive financial statements for the local regulators such as FSA, BOJ on Banking business in accordance with JGAAP with the other associate, including analytical review, facing audit farms and inspectors from FSA, BOJ etc, if and when required
  • Ensure that all the financial and regulatory reports are compliant with Japanese regulations. Manage the difference between IFRS and JGAAP and keep accountability for JGAAP reports
  • To be involved in the reports relating to Basel III and liquidity management (in future)
  • Deal with ad-hoc requirement regarding Local regulatory reports
  • Establish the sophisticated process relating to Local reports in line with financial policies and procedures and group policies
  • Participates in the development of accounting system and its project. Improve accounting process to enhance efficiency and secure accuracy
  • Support project relating to Accounting for banking business initiated by Group or Region


Major Accountabilities / Principal Responsibilities

  • Manage and control Local reports for Japanese regulators for Banking business
  • Ensure the compliance and quality of the regulatory accounting reports
  • Follow up of regulatory bodies inspection remarks (FSA, BOJ etc)
  • Ensure that clear procedures are implemented for the critical process (GAAP control, system reconciliation etc)
  • Follow and implement new accounting principles and regulations. In new business
  • Participate project and contribute to it
  • Contact with external auditors for financial statement under JGAAP


Key Skill Areas & Knowledge Required
  • Knowledge in accounting (JGAAP), tax law
  • Knowledge in banking business, financial instruments
  • Have worked in international financial institutions or domestic financial institutions or audit firm (at least 3-5years)
  • Work in a team (Assist Colleagues, effective communication)
  • English Communication in writing and talking
  • Self-motivated
  • Japanese CPA or CPA in foreign countries is preferred
  • 2nd Bookkeeping (or the similar level) is mandatory
