Associate Director, Sales/Business Development (Japanese financial institutions)
IHS Markit's Global Markets Group (GMG) provides market intelligence, data and technology solutions to all participants in the Global Markets. This role will partner with account management, product and operational teams to generate new business whilst renewing existing business. 

The Associate Director will work as the main driver of revenue acquisition across assigned accounts (Japanese financial institutions) and will ensure that business goals and expectations are achieved. Focus will be on the fixed income primary market suite of products together with the data and workflow solutions for sales and capital markets functions (equity and fixed income).

Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Generation of lead pipeline for new business and existing clients
- Renewal of existing business within defined accounts
- Reporting of actual vs. budgeted sales on a regular basis
- Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual sales on a timely and accurate basis
- Collaboration with account management, sales, product and legal teams
- Assist or lead demonstrations of products and solutions to prospect and clients
- Fully understand client workflows and where GMG products are relevant
- Provide product development feedback internally for the Japanese market
- Build relationships with decision makers across the Japanese financial institutions
- Understand the broader IHS Markit offering for identifying synergy opportunities

- 3 to 4 years sales or account management experience in a data or software related capacity working with Japanese financial institutions
- Existing network with Japanese financial institutions across Asia Pacific preferably with the capital markets (equity and fixed Income), sales and corporate access functions
- Understanding of the fixed income primary market workflow is highly desired
- Previous experience in meeting and exceeding business targets  
- Ability to deliver presentations, host events and roundtables
- Ability to communicate effectively and manage internal stakeholders
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes and Salesforce is desirable

- A desire to develop a career in sales
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Able to understand the end to end sales process and be comfortable in senior level negotiations
- Ability to strategize, develop and present business plans for the territory
- Strong interest in the financial markets industry

- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Strong inter-personal and influencing skills
- Proven ability for effective cold calls and event networking
- Fluency in English and Japanese essential

- Works collaboratively with others to achieve group goals and objectives
- Desire and willingness to mentor and develop junior colleagues

- Hong Kong or Japan
