Assistant Accountant

Our client, a Semi State Organisation based in Wicklow, is currently looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their team.

Reporting to Finance Manager role will involve:

Monthly Management Accounts

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis and key metrics reporting for the senior management team
• Preparation of month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Calculation and monitoring of accruals & prepaid expenses
• Preparation of monthly expense reports and monitoring of financial transactions
• Preparation of audit files for the interim and annual audit, responding promptly to queries raised by auditors

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Develop relationships and partner with agreed business areas
• Support the analysis & investment appraisal of capital projects

Systems & Processes

• Responsibility for maintaining the Agresso accounting system
• Actively drive process improvement and simplification in the Finance area, through participation in initiatives & projects.
• Responsibility for maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
• Preparation of the VAT returns

People/Team

• Engage effectively with team members to develop a high-performance culture, in line with the Group's values
• Provide additional support to the Finance team and Division on other tasks/projects as required
