Bank of America Merrill Lynch are seeking a talented Trade Surveillance Testing Specialist to join the EMEA Trade Surveillance team.

You will be exposed to various trading products (equity, equity derivatives, fixed income and fixed income derivatives) on-exchange and on an OTC basis. The environment is a dynamic one, especially suitable for individuals who are keen to succeed, speak up and make their mark.

The role involves a significant degree of interface with EMEA Line of Business Compliance, and there is a solid culture of recognition and reward within the team.

As a Trade Surveillance Testing Specialist your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Review and escalate exceptions generated by surveillance tests of potential market abuse and manipulations
  • Work with other team members on the development and implementation of surveillance tests
  • Close liaison with Line of Business, Control Functions and Compliance teams to resolve exceptions in a timely manner
  • Liaise with Compliance Technology in connection to existing and new surveillance tests
  • Participate in the ongoing development of and enhancements to electronic systems, policies and procedures of the Enterprise Independent Testing Trade Surveillance team in EMEA
  • Take an active role in projects within with EMEA Trade Surveillance team and the broader Enterprise Independent Testing Team

As a Trade Surveillance Testing Specialist your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Skills:
  • Experience with various surveillance Actimize and SMARTs exception reporting platforms
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of core business lines and both Equity and FICC related products
  • Proven experience in a previous Compliance Surveillance or monitoring role
  • Solid communication skills and a willingness to speak up
  • Experience in analysing, manipulating and reporting from large sets of structured data (e.g. trading records) using MS Excel, and other similar applications; therefore excellent IT skills required
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Motivated and reliable, able to demonstrate an ability to go about day-to-day responsibilities methodically, able to meet regular deadlines
