The Irish Infrastructure Fund (IIF) is a fund dedicated to investing into infrastructure projects and companies within Ireland and has been investing in Ireland since 2012. To date the fund has invested into 5 businesses in energy, telecoms, healthcare and tourism/PPP sectors and manages c. €500 million in investments. The Fund continues to seek investments and is currently exploring further opportunities. The Fund’s Infrastructure Investment Manager is AMP Capital.

Due to the ongoing growth of the fund and the team we are now seeking to appoint a Senior Analyst to the Dublin office.  This role is required to support the overall activities of the IIF. It will have a primary focus on financial management of the Fund and valuation modelling of existing investments of the Fund, with a secondary focus on supporting due diligence for new investment opportunities for the Fund. The Sr. Analyst will be an integral part of the IIF Team on matters relating to the investment, financing and on-going financial performance of any IIF investments including business performance, budgets, forecasting and valuations.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Management:

  • Set up and maintain dashboards to track and measure KPI/financial performance of the Fund
  • Support in the development of Fund NAV calculations on a quarterly basis
  • Support in the reporting and engagement process with Fund Investors

Asset Management:

  • Responsible for ongoing performance monitoring of investments owned by the Fund
  • Analyse, understand and report on business performance against budget/targets, understanding key drivers of over/under performance, and identifying key insights to support critical business decisions for the Fund’s investments

Origination / Business Development:

  • Assist in performing due diligence, preparing business cases / investment papers and valuation analysis of potential new investments/strategic initiatives to be brought to the IIF’s Investment Committee

The candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in finance, accounting or economics)
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) desirable but not essential
  • Experience of working in a commercial / financial analysis role
  • Experience in corporate finance with a good understanding of key value drivers and return metrics (e.g. yields, IRRs or exits)
  • First rate analytical skills with a sound understanding of the commercial impact of the reported figures
  • Strong financial modelling with advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Strong presentation and communication skills. Proficient in Powerpoint & Word
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work autonomously when required
