This is a 9 month fixed term contract in which you will be responsible for evaluating, processing, and pricing equity, fixed income and derivative products held within Fidelity's funds.

Department overview

The Asset Valuation team are responsible for the daily pricing of all securities held by onshore, offshore and institutional funds. The asset types covered include Equity, Fixed Income and Derivative instruments which are valued at multiple valuation points during the day. A monthly pricing service is provided to support various Customer Service teams and include Performance NAV, IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), FIJ and swing pricing. In addition the Fair Value team provide support to the Fair Value Committee who ensure that all FIL's customers are treated fairly and equitably through implementation and application oversight of valuation policies. The Fair Value responsibilities include determining a reasonable value for securities that do not have regular exchange traded or market price, where outside influences could affect the value of associated holdings at the point of fund valuation.

What you'll do

This is a 9 month fixed term contract in which you will be responsible for evaluating, processing, and pricing equity, fixed income and derivative products held within Fidelity's funds. These instruments pose a unique challenge particularly in areas such as valuation and reporting. The team identifies and mitigates all risks associated with each instrument ensuring there are robust controls in place

What you can expect


  • Accurate calculation and checking of daily asset prices
  • Documentation and processing of daily controls
  • Query resolution, exception monitoring, reporting and escalation of recurring issues
  • Assist in testing/implementation of projects which will impact the department
  • Awareness of market issues and how they relate to the products under management
  • Remains focused on the detail when doing repetitive checking tasks
  • Develops and extends own knowledge base and brings new knowledge into the team / project
  • Builds in depth knowledge required for the job
  • Collating data for Vendor Management Meetings
  • Attending quarterly Vendor Management Meetings

  • The team covers 10:00am to 7:00pm daily operated on a rota basis. Bank holidays are also covered on a rota basis.

  • Previous use of Reuters and Bloomberg
  • Previous experience of security pricing for Retail and Institutional Funds such as equity, fund of funds, fixed income or derivative pricing.
