Our client is a leading Irish FMCG organisation who are going through a period of significant growth. With a well-established brand in the UK and Irish retail markets, this growth in new business means they have a requirement to expand their finance team. They are now seeking to appoint a Senior Accountant to help shape the growth of the company over the coming years.

About the role

The role will encompass preparing detailed analyses of both business problems and opportunities, as well as advising on financial implication to the business.

Role and Responsibilities

• Preparation of annual budgets and monthly financial forecasts for the plant activities based on the production plan
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts in a timely & accurate manner
• Preparation and review of cost centres on a monthly basis, highlighting all variances to plan with commentary
• Maintain accurate hourly rates and product costs (actual and standard) in line with company policies and analyse variances between actual and standard product costs
• Report on cost reduction and efficiency improvement proposals
• Strive to implement a culture of cost control & discipline across all levels of the business
• Contribute at cross functional business & operational meetings
• Represent the department on project teams
• Implement defined projects in accordance to timeframe & scope
• Contribute to driving the strategic direction and evolution of the financial model within the business

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant with relevant expereince in manufacturing or FMCG sector
• Solid understanding of financial planning and management reporting
• Good knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
• Good understanding of cost allocation, product costing and reporting
• Critical thinker with an analytical mind to sound decision making
• Experience with fully integrated ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Excellent communicator and presentation skills
• Maintain a high level of integrity
• Team player, building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues in Finance and across business functions on multiple hierarchical levels
