Working Environment and Location

• This is a placement position for 3rd level 7 student


• This position is based in Tralee, Ireland and requires you to be 100% on site / in the office.

Purpose and Scope



The student will support the Health and Safety Department under the guidance of experienced technical personnel, contributing to safe, compliant and efficient operations. They will gain practical experience in Health and Safety team operations in a manufacturing environment. Other activities will include assisting with activities that support Health and Safety schedule adherence, operational readiness and continuous improvement, developing an understanding of internal procedures and applicable regulatory, legislative and statutory requirements within a cGMP manufacturing environment and providing project and technical support to site initiatives while building cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving and communication skills.




Role and Responsibilities



Support EHS Compliance Activities

• Assist with monitoring compliance with site EHS procedures, GMP requirements, and applicable health and safety regulations.

Participate in Risk Assessments

• Support the preparation and review of risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and Safe Systems of Work under supervision.

Conduct Workplace Inspections

• Participate in routine safety inspections and audits, documenting observations and tracking corrective actions to closure.

Assist with Incident Management

• Support the reporting, investigation, and trending of safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to help identify preventive measures.

Promote a Positive Safety Culture

• Actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns while encouraging safe behaviours and adherence to site safety standards.

Essential Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a relevant third-level qualification, preferably in a health and safety related course.
