Our client, a well-established organisation within the not-for-profit sector, is seeking an experienced Finance & Operations Manager to join their small, collaborative team. This is a varied senior role offering the opportunity to oversee the organisation's financial management while leading key operational functions including governance, HR administration, office management and organisational systems. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play an important role in supporting the organisation's continued growth and ensuring strong financial and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial management activities including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, reporting, cash flow and financial controls.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage annual budgets and financial planning processes.
- Coordinate the annual audit and statutory financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Manage grant and project finances, including financial reporting and funder compliance.
- Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Liaise with auditors, funders and external service providers as required.
Operations & Governance
- Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory and statutory obligations.
- Support the Board and senior leadership with governance administration and reporting.
- Maintain organisational policies, risk registers and governance records.
- Drive continuous improvement across operational systems and processes.
- Manage office facilities, IT providers and organisational infrastructure.
Human Resources
- Support HR administration including payroll, pensions, contracts and employee records.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and induction processes.
- Help develop and maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Liaise with external HR and payroll providers where required.
Candidate Requirements:
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- At least 3 years' experience in a senior finance and operations role.
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and financial controls.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Experience supporting senior leadership and Boards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work independently within a small team.
- Experience working within the charity or not-for-profit sector would be desirable.
- Knowledge of Irish charity accounting and governance requirements.
