Job Background/context:

A Senior Vice President (SVP) opportunity has arisen in the Citibank Europe plc (CEP) Regulatory Advisory Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for regulatory advisory matters in CEP and play a key role in regulatory initiatives, including the development and production of the CEP ICAAP.
The Regulatory Advisory Team comprises seven finance professionals.

Job Purpose:

CEP is a credit institution authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland. Following a merger with Citibank International Limited (CIL) on 1 January 2016, CEP has been designated as an Other Systemically Important Institution (O-SII) and is subject to joint supervision by both the European Central Bank (ECB) and the CBI.

CEP has assets of circa $60 billion and branches in twenty one European countries, employing approximately 9,000 staff. 

The Ireland Finance Team comprises approx. 30 staff across Controllers (Regulatory Reporting, Financial Reporting and Controls), Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax and Treasury.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

•   A lead role in the development and production of the CEP ICAAP and Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process, including regulatory capital analysis;
•   Participation in key regulatory initiatives, including ECB Stress Testing, ECB Comprehensive Assessment, and other ad-hoc initiatives which may arise;
•   Reviewing the capital implications of new product initiatives (New Product Approval Committee / Product Review Committee) and contributing to new product memos;
•   Representing CEP at the CRR Interpretative Office; reviewing proposals and communicating the regulatory implications for CEP;
•   Review of new regulatory rules and requirements impacting CEP, performing impact analysis and communicating results; 
•   Managing the Large Exposure pre-approvals process;
•   Managing ad-hoc regulatory requests as they arise.



•   Strong Finance professional with technical regulatory knowledge
Banking / Financial Services experience


•   Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people across different functions and levels of seniority
•   Good organisational skills - ability to meet deadlines in a high pressured environment
•   Proven team and staff management skills
•   Good presentation skills


•   A finance professional with a number of years' experience (extensive years)
•   Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent


•   Strong technical and analytical skills
•   Self motivated and ability to work independently
•   Demonstrated ability to complete tasks within tight deadlines
•   Professional approach to work
•   Good team player
•   Professional communication/interpersonal skills at all levels
