What you'll do

Play a key part in keeping all colleagues informed about Fidelity's vision & strategy, as well as about ongoing progress and current developments globally. You are crucial for every employee feeling that they understand the purpose and workings of our company, and knowing how they personally can best contribute to our company's success.

Strategically plan, produce, and commission content using a variety of media and formats, to report and explain what is happening. Shape and inform the type of content that works best within specific channels, and help to inform the channel strategy to best transport the content. Additionally, start, feed, and channel conversations where you can.

Your Key Accountabilities

Content Creation

  • Mostly for all staff via our global central channels; on occasion for select groups, such as senior leaders or shareholders
  • Be creative in using different media formats (written, video, photo gallery, infographics etc.) and leverage visual story-telling wherever possible
  • Generate ideas to evolve content formats and keep iterating: testing, measuring, and optimising on an ongoing basis with the help of the Internal Digital Channels Manager
  • Keep track of key industry news and Fidelity's external editorial commenting on markets and investing, as well as viral trends on social media, to get content ideas, and to relay and contextualize content for our employees
  • Write engaging and original pieces for a global audience
  • Content commissioning, editing, or repurposing
    • Draw on, build out, and manage a global network of informal content creators/contributors to obtain content proactively
      • Work with Fidelity's broader employee comms editorial communities to ensure a cohesive process for commissioning and utilising internal regional and departmental content
    • Reactively review and edit suitable content put forward by your network for central publication
    • Source and edit stories from across the business
  • Planning and managing publishing flows
    • Be responsible for the content mix on 2-3 key global channels and post all content on these
    • Maintain a central calendar to plan global internal content creation and publishing
  • Observe community engagement
    • Listen and moderate on occasion
      • This helps to build your sense of what is relevant and popular content, to identify key influencers
      • Build goodwill by sharing these people's comments or blogs more widely within the organisation
    • Identify potentially active communities and seeking out & engage (informal) community managers within these
    • Work closely with our Internal Digital Channels Manager to respond to company-wide Source related needs/wants and queries
  • Employee Communications Team champion
    • Maintain Employee Communications Team site
    • Maintain Acronym, Staff Announcement and Corporate Affairs portal pages
    • Evolve and share Editorial standards and writing guidelines Collaborate with the Digital Channels Manager on specific audience group targeting and personalisation ideas while ensuring a gold standard of knowledge across the organisation

Contribute and constantly review content delivery optimisation ideas

Your skills and experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and intercultural awareness
  • Flawless writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate at both the strategic and operational level
  • Freelance journalism/news reporting background and/or experience in an international employee communications function
  • SharePoint knowledge and skills favourable
  • Avid user of social and online news media
  • A solid understanding of and genuine interest in investing and asset management
  • Enthusiastic and imparting enthusiasm to others
  • Experience with producing content for online and social media
    • Experienced with video production and eager to use that medium to communicate with audiences
    • Hands-on experience with CMS tools, Photoshop and video/audio editing software, and basic knowledge of HTML a plus
  • Critical judgement of what makes for effective content, and the ability to make the case in support of this to senior levels of management if required
  • Ability to prioritise and to work quickly and accurately to meet multiple parallel deadlines
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage internal stakeholders and contributors
  • Second language other than English a plus

You may have previously worked as a journalist, creative producer in an agency, or as a community manager. What is key to your success in this role is a deep understanding of, and passionate interest in Communications, News and Social - and a strong intuition on what makes content clickable, shareable and discussed in a professional context.
