Business Unit Overview:
  

BlackRock Infrastructure is a fast growing business unit within BlackRock’s Real Assets offering primarily institutional clients access to equity and debt infrastructure investments. BlackRock’s Real Assets Group is focused on sourcing and managing high alpha investments that are not correlated with traditional investment products. BlackRock Infrastructure (a subset of BlackRock Real Assets) was founded in 2011 and now has over $9 billion in investor commitments.  The group has over 80 global investment professionals with a broad experience base in developing, operating and financially structuring investments and has offices in New York, London, Stockholm, Dublin, Paris, Zurich, Bogota and Mexico City.
 

Job Purpose:
 
An opportunity arises to join the Finance and Operations team, which primarily provides financial, operational and administrative support for the Infrastructure Debt and Infrastructure Solutions businesses within BlackRock. As the Finance and Operations team continues to evolve to support an ever growing investment platform, the responsibilities for the successful candidate will be broad and varied but will focus on supporting the Infrastructure Debt business. The role will report to the Managing Director, Finance and Operations but will work independently to support the investment and operations teams as necessary. The role is Dublin based.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising a team to support the Infrastructure Debt business in key financial and operational processes
  • Daily interaction with the investment teams, including, but not limited to, assisting in investment execution
  • Portfolio cash management, including but not limited to;
    • Forecasting / managing cash levels within fund / investment vehicle
    • Managing investor capital calls and finance drawdowns to ensure funding requirements are met
    • Co-ordination of distributions from fund / investment vehicles to investors
  • Overseeing FX Hedging programmes
  • Developing appropriate in-depth management information for Infrastructure Debt senior management
  • Liaising with prospective new Infrastructure Debt clients via the on-boarding process
  • Integration of newly acquired portfolio assets into BlackRock
  • Co-ordinating accurate, timely and comprehensive reporting of asset performance and effective communication of same to senior management, investors and the broader group.
  • Reviewing and assessing, in conjunction with the operations / investment teams, monthly operational and financial reports. Identification and resolution of performance issues
  • Preparation and presentation of board reports
  • Liaising with third party administrative and operational stakeholders to maintain and improve internal control and operational efficiencies
  • Co-ordinating valuation processes for Infrastructure Debt assets
  • Liaising with fund accounting team on accounting, fund valuation and reporting issues
  • Ensuring full and timely compliance with regulatory, project and client reporting requirements (where applicable)
  • Maintenance of budgets and management accounts for the teams’ activities, including variance analysis.
  • Working to constantly improve the levels of support to and oversight of the transactions teams.
  • Integration with Infrastructure Debt asset management team

 
Knowledge / Experience:    
  • Qualified accountant (5+ years PQE)
  • Third level degree
  • Experience within a group finance or reporting role
  • Experience in debt products (e.g. banking / treasury background), is desirable, but not a requirement
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including detailed knowledge and experience in IFRS
  • US GAAP knowledge an advantage
  • Excellent Excel and financial analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret financial models and large volumes of data
  • Experience in managing staff or external service providers an advantage
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage teams workload autonomously and effectively
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to apply commercial judgment
  • Inquisitive, detail-oriented, self-motivated
