Barings is seeking a Designated Person for Operational Risk Management (PCF 39-B) in their Dublin, Ireland office. This individual will be responsible for assisting with a variety of organizational risk-related projects and initiatives across all of our business lines, as well as with large firm-wide risk management activities across the enterprise.

This individual will be responsible for assisting with a variety of organizational risk-related projects and initiatives across all of our business lines, as well as with large firm-wide risk management activities across the enterprise.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work within Barings Irish Management Company to support and further develop / enhance Barings’ risk management framework across our Irish / European business.
  • Perform the regulatory responsibilities of the Central Bank of Ireland, as it relates to the role of Designated Person for Operational Risk Management (PCF 39-B)
  • Support the UK / Global Risk leadership team’s strategy and tactical efforts to improve processes, reduce vulnerabilities and create a collaborative and aligned enterprise-wide risk culture
  • Assist with the incident notification and management process by performing root cause analysis on incident causes, contributing factors, controls, and mitigation opportunities, as well as reporting and trending of incidents to senior stakeholders
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly risk reporting packages to leadership, committees and Boards
  • Develop insightful and high quality presentations to support risk team efforts and analysis
  • Work cross-functionally with Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, Portfolio Management, Trading, Research Analytics & Quant, Finance, and Business Development on identifying, analysing, measuring, monitoring and reporting Barings’ top risks
  • Collaborate with Barings’ Risk Management functions including Organizational Risk, Investment Risk, Counterparty Risk, Model Governance and Business Resiliency to strengthen monitoring and oversight of the firm’s core investment, trading, regulatory/compliance and operational activities.
  • Perform ad-hoc review on complex change initiatives and assist with translating business strategy into comprehensive risk assessment programs.

 

Experience

 

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in:

  • Irish/European Funds, financial services, investment management, risk management and/or project management
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and critically analyse processes and procedures in a push towards constant improvement
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team in a highly dynamic work environment
