Our client a leading post-production company, based in Dublin The business has built an excellent reputation for creating award-winning work across television, film and drama and commercials.
They are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a creative and growing organisation where you will play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day finance operations of the business.
About the Position
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this is a hands-on and varied role covering a broad range of finance responsibilities. You will take ownership of the accounts payable function, payroll, bank reconciliations, VAT, cash forecasting and general financial administration. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and the wider business, ensuring that financial processes are managed accurately, efficiently and within required deadlines.
The role is part-time, five mornings per week from 9.00am-1.00pm, and you will be able to work remotely following an initial training period.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full accounts payable process, including processing, coding and entering supplier invoices.
- Manage supplier accounts and complete monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
- Prepare and process bi-weekly payment runs accurately and on time.
- Manage company Visa cards and employee expenses.
- Complete daily and monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Assist with treasury, cash forecasting and cash management.
- Monitor costs and expenditure across multiple departments.
- Prepare and submit required statistical returns.
- Prepare and submit Irish VAT returns.
- Provide general bookkeeping and finance support to the Head of Finance.
- Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring strong internal controls.
- Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for a workforce of 80+ employees.
- Process all payroll changes, including new starters, leavers, transfers and amendments to hours, salaries and benefits.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions through Revenue's Real-Time Reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit Payroll Submission Requests (PSRs) via ROS.
- Calculate and process statutory and non-statutory deductions, including PAYE, PRSI, USC, LPT, pensions and relevant sick/leave payments.
- Ensure payroll processes remain fully compliant with Irish Revenue and employment legislation.
- Respond to employee payroll queries and maintain accurate payroll records.
Experience/Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience in a finance/accounts role, ideally supporting a Finance Manager or working within a small finance team.
- Strong experience across accounts payable, payroll and general bookkeeping.
- Hands-on experience managing Irish payroll is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Irish payroll and Revenue requirements, including PAYE, PRSI, USC and ROS.
- Experience preparing VAT returns in Ireland.
- Good understanding of bank reconciliations, expenses and general finance processes.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and deliver work to a consistently high standard.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved across the wider finance function.
