Job Summary
This position is within the Private Equity Fund Services Business Unit of the State Street Alternative Investment Solutions Group.
The position interacts with all levels of professionals both internally and externally. Therefore, strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Candidates must demonstrate initiative, be able to perform well under pressure and simultaneously handle multiple assignments. The position is responsible for maintaining direct client relationships and assisting with the day-to-day accounting and administration for several client sponsored investment funds .

In the role of AIS NAV Specialist you will be responsible for:

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and train staff
  • Plan internal workflow to ensure internal and client deadlines are met
  • Maintain day to day contact relationship with client
  • Coordinate client deliverables, internally, including financial statements, capital calls and distribution notices
  • Maintain working relationship with all client contacts, including investment professionals, investors, auditors, lawyers and banking personnel
  • Review periodic reconciliations such as bank and cash, expenses, portfolio FMV, accruals, custody and associated journal entries
  • Prepare/Review quarterly NAV work papers & TB output
  • Review and/or preparation of waterfall calculations and capital account allocations
  • Review quarterly management fee calculations
  • Prepare capital activity such as capital call, distribution, partner transfers etc.
  • Review quarterly and annual financial statements for completeness and accuracy
  • Assist in the coordination of the annual audit
  • Interpret funds governing documents to ensure calculations are consistent with same
  • Participate in special client or internal projects as required

To be successful in this role, your experience should include

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines
  • Proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Candidates must have a college degree (accounting degree strongly preferred; business, mathematics, finance or economics degree required)
  • A number of years of previous fund accounting or audit experience, including supervisory experience
  • Specific experience in the private equity industry and financial reporting experience is a plus, but not required
