Associate 2 - Securities Finance Agency Collateral Management
Purpose of Role:
The Securities Finance collateral team is responsible for Third Party processing and the daily management of transactions/trades between State Street and the various 3rd party custodians. The Associate's role is to ensure all trades are settled/cancelled, and fix any breaks that occur between State Street and custodians. In third party loans, the custody of the shares to be lent is not with the State Street but State Street trading desk is allowed to lend out those securities. To meet the loan obligations the processor has to collaborate with multiple parties like borrower, third party client's custodian, front office and Stock lending unit to ensure the receipts settle on time. There are various controls, systems and queue checks to make sure all 3rd party transaction feed through smoothly.
The candidate will be expected to engage and communicate daily with our borrower community - 'back office' and 'front office' staff, SSGM local & London management and our offshore JV teams. SSGM Trading and Ops units and Third Party client Custodians and Triparty Collateral Agents

Major Responsibilities:
This is a dynamic role which requires good understanding of the equities market, Securities Lending, collateral management and settlements.
Major responsibilities include:
- Monitoring various queues and remediation of short position to ensure trade instructions reach market on time
- Checking and monitoring safekeeping position of third party client
- Basic understanding of tools like SWIFT MCH/Global One
- Communicate with Trading Desk, Borrowers, Counter parties to remediate issues
- Booking trades and sending BESS/SWIFT instruction to suffice loans, clear safekeeping
- Liaising with Third party custodian, borrower to settle hybrid loans
- Diligently Follow and maintain SOP's
-Assist in driving various firm and team initiatives including Operational Efficiencies and Controls, improving the risk and control environment and maintaining procedures

Level of Education/ Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 0-2 years' of experience in the finance industry, familiar with securities lending activities
