Sr. Tech Operations Analyst
Job Description

To work in conjunction with IBM to provide operational and delivery support for the mainframe infrastructure, Automation of Manual Work-load, closely working with CDO's on Batch Management Issues & batch improvement opportunities. Provide end to end production support and derive immediate resolutions/root-cause of the incidents arising in and around the Mainframe Application's to ensure quick restoration of service degradation and hence minimal business impact.


• Mainframe Development Programming languages COBOL, JCL, REXX
• Major sub-systems CICS, DB2, IMS, DFSMS, VSAM, TCP/IP and MQ.
• Workload manager (WLM), Automation (OPSMVS) and performance (Omegamon, APA, Strobe), Mainframe DR, XRC / Global Mirror is a plus
• JES, initiators, started tasks, jobs and related concepts.
• z/OS and typical library organization, linklists, SMF data and related concepts.
• Storage concepts DFSMS, DFHSM, VSAM, tape subsystem, class-based storage management, tiered storage and related tools and concepts is a plus.
• Knowledge of omvs, Unix system services on MF is a plus
• Version management (ChangeMan), Batch Environment (Jobtrac), Problem determination tools (IBM PDT / CA tools suite), Data transfer (NDM / FTP), Security tools (RACF / ACF), Tape Management (CA-1), Sort, etc.
• Pacbase, Assembler is a plus
• Experience in Unix / Windows environments in MQ, NDM, Jobtrac / TWS, Scripting (VB, Javascript), HTML programming is a plus.
• Change management, service management processes.
• Experience in migration projects is a plus.
• Typically requires a Bachelor's and 5+ years of directly related experience. Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus extensive knowledge of other related fields. Extensive knowledge of programming and systems analysis and related applications.
• System Programming knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical/critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to handle customer needs successfully while following defined department processes and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• 5-7+ years' experience in project execution role across the solution delivery life cycle (e.g. requirements, analysis, testing, and implementation).
• Demonstrated proficiency in assigned practice area (including general practice, methodology, tools and processes).
• Superior written and verbal communication skills; to include developing executive level presentations.
• Proven practice area leadership experience, including ability informally lead and mentor peers across the practice community.
• Effective at building and maintaining a resource network; demonstrated skills in building effective business consulting relationships.
• Work experience of Service Management tools, preferably ServiceNow
• Proficiency in excel and PowerPoint
• Creation of dashboards and other reports of leadership awareness

 • Demonstrated ability to clearly and persuasively communicate ideas, issues and recommendations.
• Strong analytical ability with proven proficiency in synthesizing data into meaningful and digestible data points and actions.

• Proven project management and problem-solving skills.
