Overview:
The Index & Data Solutions team (IDS) is responsible for the index and data strategy for the firm and the management of the commercial relationships with each provider. The Operations team within IDS handles all market data and index requests and works with the vendors address various reporting, invoice processing and other needs in timely manner. The group is comprised of three key areas: Client Onboarding & Servicing Service Operations, Market Data Operations, and Index Licensing Operations.
Role Description:
We are looking for an ambitious and motivated individual to be part of our Index Licensing Operations team to be responsible for index usage reporting and validating, processing, and researching index licensing invoices each quarter.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead team of professionals responsible for producing asset reports and validating fee calculations on a quarterly basis
  • Oversee team's recurring deliverables, manage expectations, and provide coverage when required
  • Research and resolve discrepancies and actively follow up to ensure timely issue resolution
  • Develop a working knowledge of contract agreements and a keen understanding of factors that impact index licensing, utilize that knowledge to ensure delivery of high-quality reports
  • Build partnerships with IDS Relationship Managers to help support the Passive business' index licensing needs; participate in periodic spend reviews
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal Finance partners, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports and invoice payments
Knowledge/Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, math, or a related field
  • Leadership and people management experience is a must
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, including an understanding of portfolio and index data analysis; knowledge of the passive investing business (including ETFs) preferred
  • Advanced Excel knowledge, experience working in Python/VBA/SQL preferred
  • Able to quickly learn proprietary systems (BlackRock's own and third-party platforms); knowledge of the Aladdin platform and ability to source data efficiently is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), comfortable interacting with and influencing a broad range of audiences
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are a must
  • Bold and proactive with a willingness to stretch outside comfort zone
  • Self-starter, able to prioritize and deliver multiple assignments while maintaining high quality and consistent results
  • Organized and structured with tasks, results and expectations
  • Proven track record of alignment with the current BlackRock principles based on own professional career
