MASS includes specialized capabilities in areas of tactical asset allocation, income funds, target date and target risk strategies, as well as customized solutions through state-of-the-art portfolio construction and asset allocation methodologies. Our team of over 250 multi-asset investment professionals runs a range of pooled vehicles, model portfolios, and customized mandates for a diversified client base. Currently, MASS manages over $840 billion in assets and has a strong presence in San Francisco, New York, London and throughout Asia Pacific.

Position Overview

The MASS team is seeking an Associate to lead efforts in reporting on BlackRock's Model Portfolios Solutions business. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and process-oriented individual to redefine the reporting structure for one of BlackRock's fastest growing businesses in the areas of both internal financial reporting and also streamlining the client reporting process with a particular focus on our models business in Australia.

In this role, you will own reporting processes that are critical to the success of the business. With a focus on quality control and a vision for future growth, you will work to enhance and streamline the current process, utilizing technology and identifying ways to add automation. The successful applicant will demonstrate proven skills in report production, technology integration, process improvement and quality control. They will be a motivated self-starter that consistently seeks out ways to improve and challenge the status quo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own financial reporting for Model Portfolios, becoming the subject matter expert on all financial metrics including AUM and Revenue

  • Enhance, revolutionize, and improve the current client reporting process for our models business in Australia. Utilize technology and look for ways to automate and streamline the production process and accelerate the delivery timeline

  • Establish robust quality control methods to ensure accuracy of data

  • Work with partners to create and implement a policy on models reporting, setting criteria on what is required for data consumption and how metrics will be tracked

  • Partner with teams across the firm (including but not limited to Portfolio Management & Research, Product Strategy, Sales, Marketing, FP&A, COO and AUM teams), gaining a breath of knowledge from each area to ensure a streamlined process

  • Utilize visualization tools to improve the reporting output and provide clear and meaningful results to business partners

Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher-level qualification and demonstrated record of academic achievement

  • Previous work experience of at least 2 years, preferably in financial services

  • Strong problem-solving, financial modeling and analytical skills

  • Results-oriented with a high level of self-motivation, ownership and initiative

  • Strong process awareness and ability to recognize and address operational risk issues

  • Technology minded with an aptitude for process improvement

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, planning and time management skills including ability to function effectively within a fast-paced environment

  • Advanced Excel skills including Macros and VBA

  • Coding experience (e.g. Python) and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) a must
