Team Overview

This team collaborates with various business groups within iShares including Business Strategy, Product Development, Capital Markets and Portfolio Management. The team is responsible for delivering technology solutions that support the end-to-end investment process for all regions and has individuals across the globe. Our development team is responsible for the full software development lifecycle from analysis to implementation as well as supporting our production environment. Team members are located around the global; including London, San Francisco, India.

Job Responsibilities

Analyze the problem from different angles and perform gap analysis, conducting brainstorming sessions to get exact requirements, document exact business needs along with both functional and non-functional requirements (e.g. use cases, business requirements document, system requirements documents, JIRA Stories, Back log) by working alongside business users and members of the development team

Building strong relationships with the business through communication and domain knowledge

Work alongside project managers, technical leads and analysts throughout the whole Software Development lifecycle: understanding systems requirements, review high level solution documents, validate requirements during testing

Develop/review testing specifications; conduct usability and functional testing and recommend corrective and preventive actions

Partner with project managers in performing new work impact assessments by studying the systems, operations and identify the scope of the problem and its impact; work with the Product /Tech owner for estimation

Supporting the Product / Tech owner to oversee the development cycles, conduct meetings and perform project / release management

Qualification

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field

• Experience in finance, business or accounting

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness

• Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and learn quickly

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Ability to work in a global team-environment

• Ability to influence development across teams

• Experience in working with Project managers / Leads and managing SDLC

Required technical skills include:

• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (including Agile)

• Experience of tools used in requirements gathering / management like JIRA, presentations

• Experience in understanding and testing systems developed using Java, HTML and Web Technologies (HTML 5, Angular 2)

• Experience working with relational databases: SQL queries for understanding / validating data

Nice to have:

• Experience in software development

• Based on system needs, create prototype, wireframes, mockups, screens and guide the solutions in terms of UI/UX options / approaches

Candidate must have the ability to quickly learn the intricacies of complex financial instruments and adapt their technical ability quickly
