Network Regulatory Projects & Governance vertical leads audit, regulatory and governance engagements. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive the continued evolution around audit and regulatory management for India Network, and create a seamless experience for our stakeholders.

Network Regulatory Projects & Governance vertical leads audit, regulatory and governance engagements. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive the continued evolution around audit and regulatory management for India Network, and create a seamless experience for our stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Identify solutions to regulatory requirements by collaborating across the Network, Product Owners and the broader enterprise such as Issuing, Acquiring, Enterprise Digital/Data Solutions and Fraud Risk Management.
- Work on resolving regulatory / other issues along with placing controls and remediate events
- Run special projects assigned that cut across different sub-functions within Network team
- Create recurring, consistent leadership Control and Compliance reporting and insights.
- Uplift root cause analysis framework and create enhanced analytics and insights.
- Provide support for targeted projects advised at improving the control environment, mitigating, and remediating risk.
- Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders.
- Development of reports and presentations - including gathering data, extrapolating critical elements, and presenting findings in an actionable format.
- Assess new and changing regulations with legal, Compliance and Operational Excellence, GMS to determine impact to the Network.
- Coordinate across GMNS Product to deliver timely changes to meet regulatory delivery requirements.
- Coordinate response to ongoing audit, governance and oversight requirements including regulatory reporting requests and ad hoc regulator expectations
- Develop external positioning for regulator consultations, representing the American Express Network perspective.
- Review key industry forum & association insights focused on industry interpretation of regulatory requirements
- Partner with Tech / Product SMEs to ensure appropriate audit/regulatory communications and implementation
Qualifications
- Strong proven understanding of MS-Excel and Tableau. Ability to handle sophisticated data incl. unstructured data using programming languages such as SAS, SQL, Python or another similar programming language.
- Experience compiling information and developing thoughtful material for presentation.
- Payments industry experience, including knowledge of payments regulations and its impact on payment networks, issuers or acquirers/payment aggregators.
- Understanding of emerging trends in payments, various payment products offered in market and its impact on business.
- Experience of Product management and Network solutions will be desirable to be able to connect the dots between the regulatory requirements and what needs to be implemented/changed/communicated.
- Outstanding communicator with the ability to convey complex topics in a clear and effective manner and adapt based on audiences.
- Audit and/or Regulatory Change Management within the Business, Operational Excellence or Compliance is highly preferred.
- High intellectual curiosity & critical thinking with the ability to understand new concepts quickly, deal with ambiguity and solve complex problems.
- Self-starter who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to deliver with limited direction.
- Strong relationship and collaboration skills with the ability to influence a broad group of stakeholders across the organization, at all levels.
- Flexibility to support varying time zones that have global considerations.
