Director-App Development
Job Description

Owning the end-to-end Front End development and delivery. Driving end-to-end process through designing pilots and working cross-functionally to ensure sprints are executed. Providing expertise and input as field facing initiatives are prioritized, executed, and validated
Coaching and supporting business partners through design and delivery . Ensuring collaboration and integration between up to 10 ongoing next gen product teams rapidly implementing field/client facing solutions across the enterprise.
Tracking results and impact, driving communication with the Product owners


  • Lead and develop scalable engineering solutions for cross-team concerns like UI state management, data fetching, performance, and other architectural problems
  • Research and develop with the latest technologies like Next.js, React, and service workers to solve pain points for Web engineers and to solve business problems
  • Automate developer pain away by developing CLIs, Slack & GitHub bots, custom tools, or custom lint rules
  • Maintain and support the Web Foundations product by triaging issues and partnering with product teams
  • Educate, share, and teach other Web & enterprise engineers through speaking and writing
  • Serve and mentor other engineers through formal coaching, consulting, and pair programming
  • Experience working with a source versioning tool, such as Git
  • Experience working as a member of an Agile software development team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills demonstrating technical leadership
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with TypeScript
  • Experience with React and Node.js
  • Experience working with GraphQL and RESTful web services
  • Experience building accessible websites
  • Experience working on project facilitating true CI and CD
  • Exposure to DevOps tools, processes, and culture (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Git, etc.)
  • Awareness of new and emerging technologies

Required Qualifications

  • B-TECH degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of software development experience
  • 8+ years of experience in web technologies
  • Proficient with JavaScript
  • Experience with front-end web frameworks like React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, or Polymer
  • Experience developing responsive websites using HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with build tools such as webpack and Rollup
  • Computer Science foundational knowledge including competencies working with design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience automated testing and proficient with a testing framework (e.g. RTL, Jest, Cypress)

  • Mastery of the next gen transformation approach
  • Expert in soft, traditional change levers
  • Deep understanding of organizational dynamics
  • Strong ability to influence behavior and motivate a team
  • Ability to drive workstream in a project context with limited guidance
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to coach and train, including conducting group and one to one training
