Job Description:

Team Overview

The Portfolio Compliance Group (PCG) is a global group which sits within Global Accounting and Product Services (GAAPS) one of the core functions within the Business Operations Group at BlackRock. The team is responsible for implementing controls and processes to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and portfolio guidelines. The team fulfils this mission primarily by extracting, analysing, coding and monitoring client, regulatory and internal investment guidelines on the firm’s Aladdin system. The team is engaged with and provides services to many other departments and functions across the firm, including: portfolio management, trading, client services, technology, operations and legal.



The specific role, based in Budapest working in the PCG Monitoring team, will be primarily focused on the pre and post trade monitoring of Investment and Regulatory Guideline activities for BlackRock’s global clients.

Role Responsibility

Responsibilities are dynamic, but typically include:

Key Responsibilities:



Manage, coach and mentor the Monitoring function in Budapest

• Partner with the EMEA Monitoring lead to develop and execute on the regional strategy

• Pre-trade violation investigation and investment restriction overrides

• Post-trade violation investigation, proactive escalation and resolution

• Oversight of outsourced testing

• Client certifications / attestations

• Understand and own the risks associated with the global team

• Ensure procedure documents are up-to-date and team is following the process

• Challenge the status quo and identify opportunities for process enhancements

• Champion diversity & inclusion

• Enhance existing compliance coding, and investigate / troubleshoot potential breaches when needed

• Active participation in strategic projects and initiatives

• Drive connectivity with other locations and partner with peers globally in each of the regional Monitoring teams

• Lead / manage process improvement and efficiency initiatives, as well as system / technology enhancements

• Lead / manage strategic projects and initiatives.

Experience

Knowledge / Experience:

• Significant operational and people management experience

• Multiple years of experience in managing and leading teams

• Multiple years of experience in managing stakeholders

• Experience of successfully leading projects

• Client centric focus with a deep understanding of client intent

• Experience of working in the investment management industry and of investment products preferred

• Comfortable working across multiple functions, geographies and stakeholders with maturity and judgement

• A strong drive, sense of ownership and sense of urgency

• Proven track record of people development

Skills / Qualifications:

• Experienced people manager with a strong financial background

• Strong Microsoft Office knowledge

• Experience of working with Aladdin suite of applications (preferable)

• Although not required, knowledge of programming languages (such as Visual Basic, C++, or Java) and an understanding of relational database concepts (including SQL) are beneficial
